The concept of my this shoot was giving the first thought of knowledge that comes to mind when I
imagine how the body is exposed explicitly in contemporary fashion and society. My first influence
from this topic was Roy Raymound the king of lingerie which funny enough prior to the founding of
Victoria Secret, he was embarrassed purchasing lingerie for his wife. My second influence is a
photographer that goes by the name of Jake Hicks, he does a lot of neon light lighting and a lot of
the models our all in revealing and sexy underwear.
The neon lighting in my opinion makes the female body stand out. It highlights it in a beautiful way.
My idea of the photo-shoot was to identify the complex of a female body with no judgement, I
showed that in my models poses. They look like they were having fun being a woman in an exposed
body with lingerie. I made the models look as if they were dancing and moving. The only thing I
regret is getting proper neon lights, instead I got LED ones that weren’t bright enough from amazon
in the colour of pink, red and blue and they took a while to come in the post. It ended up I had to
edit the neon brightness on. Which a matter of fact was actually a learning curve to teach myself to
do that on Photoshop and I did find it quite interesting.
Overall, I am proud of the outcome of the pictures and the models worked well with me, they were
natural beauties so I didn’t have to edit much. Styling, make-up, photography and editing on Adobe
Photoshop was all done by me. My styling inspiration was Victoria Secret’s bodysuit section on their
website.
