Civil Rights Movement Guardian Weekend and TIME Magazine Spread

This project portrays the rights of African-American citizens. It is based on the many
protests defending the colour of their skin, to give everyone the right to have a say and vote
especially in America. Martin Luther King Jr the leader of this movement before his
assassination (Civil Rights Movement 1950-1965) that happened in 1968 helped defend
these equal rights.

The Editorial images includes the model wearing handcuffs to show the vulnerability and
the flag shows the liberal side to prove everyone has a right to live and be protected in
America (and this whole world of course) and race should not matter, everyone matters. I
choose delicate and elegant expressions for the model to show she neither happy or sad to
give a story that she content she has fought for her rights and she will continue fighting so
you can arrest her all you want. For the 4 images I kept it quite plain by deciding on a simple
black dress. The focus was set more on the props and her stance was strongly grounded.
